Many people can accomplish great things, but Princess Diana went out of her way to help people around the world. One of the many organizations that she helped was The British Red Cross Anti-Personnel Land Mines Campaign. She did lots of charitable work. Diana was a true humanitarian. A humanitarian is a person having concern for or helping to improve the welfare and happiness of other people. One thing she did was raise the worldwide awareness of the danger of antipersonnel landmines. These landmines are explosive devices designed to injure or kill people. They lie dormant for years and even decades under, on or near the ground until a person or animal triggers their detonating mechanism.
