David Suzuki

by Nick from St. Catharines

David Suzuki was born on March 24th, 1936 in Vancouver, Canada. He didn’t have much of a childhood because his mother, father, and two sisters were sent to camps during World War Two, when Canada declared on war on Japan.

David Suzuki went on to graduate from Amherst College in Massachusetts in 1958 with a BA in biology. He also received a Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Chicago. David Suzuki has also studied media. He produced and hosted The Nature of things David Suzuki. All the shows, magazines or books he has written, produced or hosted are based on the environment and ecology. He won multiple awards for all his work. David also has written at least 35 books, most of them on the environment. They include More Good News, A Good Catch, The Big Picture and David Suzuki’s Green Guide. David Suzuki wrote these books because he wanted to raise Global warming awareness through books.

David Suzuki also has his own charity called The David Suzuki Foundation. This charity focuses on Global Warming and how to change it. David Suzuki is a hero because he’s been fighting for the environment for fifty years. He’s 74 years old and still fighting it. He should be recognized as hero for all the great things he has done for the earth. He’s a huge hero in my eyes!
