by Hannah from Barrie

David Suzuki is a Canadian science broadcaster and environmental activist. He was born on March 24, 1936 in Vancouver B.C. He attended Mill street elementary school and grade 9 at Leamington secondary school before moving to London; while in London he attended London Central secondary school.

David Suzuki was married to Setsuko Joane Sunahara. He had three children with Setsuko named Tamiko, Laura, and Troy. He married Tara Elizabeth Cullis and had two daughters Sarika and Severn. David has a twin sister named Marica.

David’s father influenced him by interesting him in nature! David had a few obstacles while growing up like discrimination, loss of his family, and loss of his dad’s business. Even though he was poorly treated, he refused to deny his Canadian roots.

David is a hero because he is a scientist, environmentalist, radio and television host. These programs explain the complexities of science in an easily understood manner. David is a hero to those who admire nature! :)

David's actions make him a hero because he is recognized as a world leader in sustainable ecology, written 47 books including 17 for children. He has also written a text book called "An introduction to genetic Analysis". He even has a gene named after him called "DTS" and his name is David Takayoshi Suzuki. The End - thank you for listening! : P
