Diego Armando Maradona was born on 30 October 1960 in Lanus, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He lived with his family and he was poor. He has played football since childhood and his dream was to play in a World Cup and win it.
Maradona enter professional football at the age of 15. He started playing in Argentinos Juniors. After that, he signed with Boca Juniors and after the 1982 World Cup was transferred to the Barcelona Football Club. After Barcelona he was transferred to Napoli at the top of his game. Then he was transfered to Sevilla followed by Newell's Old Boys and finishing his career in Boca Juniors, his favourite club.
Something important in the life of Maradona was playing in the World Cup. In all, there are four World Cups in which he played. His first was in 1982. In this the results not was very good. His second World Cup was the tournament most important in Diego's life. Argentina won the tournament. In a game against England he made a goal with his hand, then called "The hand of God". In the 1990 World Cup, Argentina lost 1 to 0 in the final. However, it was a very good tournament for Maradona. His last World Cup was in 1994 where Maradona played only two games. Maradona was suspended from the team because he had tested positive for doping.
The biggest problem in his life were the drugs and because of this, he wasn't recognized as the best football player in the world by everyone. Now Maradona has quit taking drugs and is the coach of the Argentine Team and the hero of thousands of Argentines.
