Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose is a 6'3 point guard who plays for the Chicago Bulls. He weighs in at 190 pounds and is African American. He has been in the NBA for 2 years, and this will be his 3rd year. He won the Rookie of the Year award during his 1st season, and then made the All-Star team his 2nd year in the league.

Derrick Rose was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago on October 4, 1988. He has been playing basketball his whole life from age 2 up to now. He went to Simeon Career Academy for High School and Memphis University for college. His 4 years at Simeon Academy he averaged 21.1 PPG, 8.2 APG, 6.2 RPG, and 2.7 SPG.

At The University of Memphis Derrick Rose was the starting PG (point guard). He averaged 14.49 PPG, 4.7 APG, 4.5 RPG, and 1.2 SPG. This was all during his one-year college career. Derrick Rose’s 07-08 seasons as well as the Memphis team got there whole season vacated because of kids playing on the team with bad test scores. Derrick Rose sadly was one of them. Memphis did not try and lie about the situation, which is a positive out of the situation.

Off the court, Derrick Rose is a very nice and helping person. He recently signed a shoe deal. He also made the cover of a video game.

I think Derrick Rose is a very good guy despite what happened at Memphis. I also want to grow up and be just like him. This has been my dream since I was in the 7th grade. I really like his skills and abilities with the basketball, and I think I have the same amount of skills.
