What is a hero? A hero to me is a person who is kind, loving, talented, and outgoing. My hero was all those things and much more. My hero is Dimebag Darrell. He was a person who would give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Like when Dime helped his brother Vinni Paul out of some bad habits that could have killed him. He was a great musician and a wonderful person.
Dimebag Darrell, otherwise known as the lead guitarist for Pantera, Damage Plan, and Rebel Meets Rebel; was born on August 20, 1966. He used to live in Dallas, Texas, until he was shot to death during a live stage performance by a crazed fan. Dime died December 8, 2004. One of Dime's friends, Scott Ian, said he really did put his friends and family first, and for him everyone was family. Some of his other friends said that he could take a rift that that would take a year to master and play it in seconds.
Dime was a wonderful speed guitarist. He had been playing since he was 12 years old. Dime wasn’t always known as Dimebag Darrell, he used to be known as Diamond Darrell. Dime had been nominated for Musician of the Year many times. For the wonderful music he played and all the people he influenced, he was the best. He had influenced me in so many different ways. He influenced me to be kind and outgoing to others, and he influenced me to be all that I can, and to be the best human being I can possibly be. He also influenced my love of metal music.
Dimebag Darrell was a wonderful person and an unbelievable guitarist. He was everything I could ever want in a hero. He was kind, loving, outgoing, and talented.
