Dou Dou

Dou Dou arrived in my life when I was in 6th grade. I was a lonely kid hungering for recognition and friendship. Shunned by all others, Dou Dou was the only one who accepted me with all the love and friendship he could provide. He is the greatest hero in my life.

In many ways, Dou Dou and I are very similar. We both loved food for the beauty of the taste, we liked to play, we liked to sit back and relax, and we liked to make others smile. Heck, we even copy off each other just for the fun of it. This formed a firm and unshakable foundation for our friendship. Together, we won the hearts of many people, we made many friends, and most importantly, we were able to make other people smile happily.

Dou Dou changed my life for the better, I started to love everything around me, I don't wish to hate anymore. Instead, I strive to achieve that purity and unconditional love which only animals possess in the fullest sense. Yes, Dou Dou is a dog. Are you suprised? Don't be. Many of you may not be aware of it, but heroes like Dou Dou are all around you. They are the silent watchers sitting in trees, they are the eloquent musicians lurking in the grass, they are the babbling chatterboxes flying above, they are everywhere! Yes, they are animal heroes! Each and every one of us has the potential to become a hero, and so do they! Why not take a chance and find an animal hero? They might one day save you from yourself, just like Dou Dou saved me!
