My Hero is my dog. He was born on a farm. He was the runt of the family and always stayed to himself. He was born in March and died at the end of August just before school started. He lived for 13 years. He lived in all of the houses I did. Like in my mom and dad’s first house where I was born, the cabin, in Morinville and in Northrige.

My dog was a hero because he was intelligent, comfortable and FUN!!! He never left us and was a very good listener. He only ran away once, but that’s another story.

Once my dog ran out in the mud because my mom left the garage open and then he ran out so I had to go get him. All the people working on the houses in the crescent asked me what his name was and could they pet him.

Once he saved my dad by chasing away a moose. He ran non-stop for about 2 hours chasing the same moose. My dad thought he was lost or died but he came back. That is my favourite story about him.

My dog showed my family and I how to be a hero in the world. He showed us how to be lovable. We all loved him.
