Do you have a science hero? Well I do, his name is Elisha Graves Otis. He lived an astounding life. Sometimes Elisha struggled but he never gave up on making his awesome creation, the elevator. Elisha displayed many characteristics and actions of a hero. He (Elisha Graves Otis) is considered a hero because he invented the elevator which people all around the world still use today. You will soon discover that Elisha Otis is a great science hero.
Elisha Otis was born on August 3, 1811 and he invented a better and more stabilized elevator in 1853. In 1743, someone invented the first ever elevator and a lot of people kept dying because the rope from the top of the elevator broke often and the rope was always being replaced. So, Elisha Otis made a new type of elevator that was machine powered for it to go up and down to get to the floor that people lived or work on.
Elisha’s heroic characteristics are very interesting because he is the kind of person that likes to be caring and respectful to others. He is also thoughtful because he was getting tired of everyone starting to die because of the unsafe elevators that were invented in 1743, so he decided to create a safer elevator for the whole world to use. His actions are interesting also because he made the world’s best invention ever. I feel that Elisha Otis took his time to make this invention because it was so great. I think he is a great hero. I now feel like he did more things then just make an elevator, I feel like he saved us all.
Elisha did meet struggles in life, but he made it through and achieved his goals. That is why he is a great inventor. He changed the world by creating the elevator. He also helped others that have disabilities to get up or down to the floor that they live on. That’s why I think he is a great inventor.
My science hero is Elisha Otis because he invented something that lots of people use now. Now you can see why he had a great life, displayed his selflessness, and is a great hero. That is why Elisha Otis is a magnificent hero.
