Did you know there are over 150,000 inventors in the world? My science hero is Erno Rubik. Erno Rubik lived a fascinating life. He struggled at times, but he still reached his goals. Erno Rubik displays many characteristics of a hero. He is my hero because he invented one of the first 3D puzzle games.
Do you know anything about Erno Rubik? Erno Rubik was born on July 13, 1944. The thing that Erno Rubik invented was the Rubic's Cube. Erno Rubik’s father was an aircraft glider. Rubik studied sculpture in college, but after graduating, he went back to learn architecture at a small school. He remained there after he studied to teach interior design.
Do you know that Erno Rubik had a hard time after he made the Rubik's Cube? He did not like the popularity that came with success. “He was known to be an introvert and hardly accessible person, hard to contact or get for autographs”. Another trouble Erno Rubik had was when he was growing up during WWII in Budapest, Hungary. I can imagine that would have been a terrible time to be a kid growing up. There was probably a lot of violence, restrictions, and feeling scared.
Erno Rubik is my hero because he is smart. I know he is smart and because he thought and worked hard on an invention. He was determined to make the Rubic's Cube.
Do you have a science hero? My science hero is Erno Rubik. He struggled at times, but was determined to reach his goal. I wish I could meet him so he can teach me to invent things too.
