Hero. When most people think of the word hero they think of someone who is brave and strong. Maybe a firefighter or policeman. My hero is Emma Watson. She has been in multiple movies including "Harry Potter" and "Beauty and the Beast". She has modeled for Burberry and Lancome. Emma has also studied at Brown University, an Ivy League School. These reasons make Emma Watson pretty cool but I also admire Emma Watson because she is a feminist and activist for equality. I admire Emma Watson because she has made a name for herself outside of just being a celebrity.

Emma Watson has been in numerous movies and musicals, but she has also been scared in the movie industry. After filming all eight "Harry Potter" movies she admits she was scared to try new things, thinking people would always only see her as "Hermione Granger". Emma has been in amazing movies like "Ballet Shoes" and "Noah". I believe it is admirable to try new things and step out of your comfort zone, even if you are scared.

I admire Emma Watson because even though she was a success by 16, she still chose to go to college. Emma went to Brown University, an Ivy League School. .On Sunday, May 25 she graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. She has also studied English at Oxford University. I admire Emma's desire to learn and challenge herself at one of the best schools in the United States. Emma Watson is my hero because she  challenges herself and expands her knowledge, even though she does not have to.

Emma Watson is a feminist. Most people think being a feminist means that you stand up for women's rights but it actually means that you believe in equality for both men and women. If you are a feminist you believe in things like equal pay for men and women or equal job opportunities. She kicked off the launch of UN Women's #HeForShe campaign in September 2014 when she read a speech on feminism and what it means to a be a feminist. Emma Watson is a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, this catapulted the already-famous actress into feminism, politics, and social change. Suddenly, Emma Watson wasn't just the young woman being a feminist character - she was a real-life feminist using her knowledge to contribute to the international conversation on women's rights.

Emma Watson is my role model. Since she was young she has tried hard at anything she has done and is a very kind person. She has been in award winning movies. She has gone to grade A schools. She has helped spread awareness about women's rights and is involved in #HeForShe campaign. Not many people can say that they have accomplished as much as she has by age 25. For all of these reasons Emma Watson is my hero.
