| John Elway |
My hero is John Albert Elway because he was one of the best Denver Bronco quarterbacks. He led my favorite football team to victory many times. John Elway is also one of my favorites because he was one of the best quarterbacks in the history of football.
John Elway was born June 28, 1960 in Port Angeles, Washington. John was an accurate passer in his pop Warner league and elementary school. He went to the greater Los Angeles for high school. John could play well in the pass-oriented offense of the Granada Hills High School Highlanders football team. He was a five time Super Bowl starting quarterback. He was a two time Super Bowl champion, had 47 come-from behind victories, and was league MVP. Who will ever forget the come from behind victory that got us to the Super Bowl? One fan's thoughts include: "That score tied the game with just 39 seconds remaining and sent it into overtime, where John conducted a 60-yard drive to set up the game-winning field goal by Rich Karlis. Final score: Broncos, 23 – Browns, 20." Despite a loss two weeks later to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXI, the foundation had been laid for John’s reputation as the greatest comeback QB of all time."
John Elway is retired and is no longer playing pro football for the Denver Broncos. I wish that he was still playing football because he would help the Broncos win more than they have been. John was also a business man. He owned car dealerships in the Denver area and many people purchased their new cars from his stores. He also gave a lot of his time and money to local charities and groups. He is a very caring and giving person.
John Elway would be in the sports and community hero categories. He would be in sports obviously because he was the Denver Broncos greatest quarterback. He would also be a community hero because many kids like me look up to him and all he's done and accomplished.
John was a good player and a hero to many Bronco fans. He accomplished many things during his career. He was a Bronco and a good person. Looking at the Bronco players of his time, I think John Elway was one of the best Broncos there ever was. One day I hope to meet him, to shake hands with him. I hope we get another John Elway.
