Eve

by Rachel from Arizona

A hero is some one who takes risks to help some one else, or loses their life saving another. A hero doesn’t have to be a human; it could be animals too. My hero is a dog that saved her owner’s life. This dog is a Rottweiler, named Eve.

Eve took a risk, and saved her owner, Kathie Vaughan. Kathie is paralyzed from the waist down and is in a wheel chair. Kathie Vaughan was driving when her car burst into flames. Kathie pushed Eve out the door, along with the wheel chair. The only problem is that Kathie couldn’t see the wheel chair through all the smoke. So she wasn’t able to get into the wheel chair. Eve grabbed Kathie by the ankle and dragged her to a ditch nearby, for safety. A police officer came during the fire, and informed Kathie to get farther away from the car. Apparently the fire was going towards the gas tank. All of the sudden, Eve continued to drag Kathie. Both of them ended up at a safe distance from the burning car. A few minutes later, the car exploded.

Kathie knew then she could’ve died, but instead of dying, Eve, her dog, saved her life. Eve is now considered a hero, probably not only to me, but many others, and not to forget her owner too. Thank you Eve, for being a hero by saving a life.

If Eve didn’t save her owner, then Kathie would’ve died. Eve is very caring, and loving to her owner. If her owner died, Eve would stay by her side forever.
