Firefighter

My definition of a hero is somebody who is brave and sacrifices their life for other people. A hero could be role model for like a friend or family member and you follow in there steps. The qualities for a hero are to be brave heroic and will stand up for other people. Some ordinary guy could become a hero in a second. Anyone could become a hero. The hero I choose was a firefighter. They fight fires to save people’s lives and sometimes the firefighter loses their life. A firefighter has a hard job putting out fires all the time. They put out forest fires and get people out of buildings that are going to fall.

A firefighter will think of you first before they think of themselves. Now that’s a hero. In 9/11 fire fighters, police and doctors were either wounded or killed by helping other people. Firefighters date back a long time back to when the 13 colonies were around. They would have people grab buckets full of water get to the house and throw the water on the fire. It would take longer but it was worth it.

Another hero is a role model. My friend Joey is a great friend. He’ll always stick up for you in any situation. Joey helps me through some tough times and I help him through tough times. I remember one time that I was in deep trouble with a bully and Joey came and told the bully to leave me alone and Joey was big so the bully left me and Joey alone. I helped Joey when he did his homework but couldn’t find it. We went to class and the teacher let it slip because of what I said [it wasn’t anything bad].

So a firefighter saved one of my sister’s friends. I will tell a little about it. I’m playing outside and I hear fire trucks coming. I looked and I saw a basement on fire and people running from the house away from the fire. She was terrified, the way her face looked. Then glass shattered. The firefighters came and put the fire out but a lot of things in the basement were destroyed. Now they are fixing their basement and getting new stuff. And one person on my block had a tractor accident and he is still alive.

My life and a firefighter's life is packed with action and sadness in their lives. I hope you don’t have this happen to you. People sacrifice their lives for anyone or they can be a role model. I hope you liked reading my hero essay.
