The Firefighters of 9/11

September 11th 2001 at 8:50am people describe what happened. One plane had crashed into the Pentagon Building. Later on that day a second plane had hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. The Chief of the Fire Department agreed that two groups should go in the World Trade Center and should stay in the South Building.

Some Firefighters went back into the World Trade Center again trying to save as many people as possible even though it was going to fall. They carried people out of the Twin Towers, helping the others that were dying. It must have felt shocking to see people dying in front of you. When the planes flew into the Twin Towers on September the eleventh the floors started to shake. When people looked up there was a big cloud of smoke and flames.

A real super hero has special qualities such as bravery, intelligence, courage and resilience. Many of these brave firefighters have lost their lives trying to help and rescue others.

If I had been a fireman I would have felt scared. I would have asked myself, "What should I do?" and think, "It's the end of the world!"
