This man’s life began on January 17th 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was just one of his 16 siblings. He left to Philadelphia when he was 23 for various reasons and got very lucky. He got to talk to the governor of Pennsylvania, Sir William Keith. Sir William advised him to go to London to acquire the proper tools and equipment needed to start a printing business at a much cheaper price. About a year later, in 1730, he returned home and married a lady named Deborah Read. This gave him a chance to read. With his spare time, he wrote a very funny book called Poor Richard’s Almanac, which was the best seller back then. Then, Benjamin died on April 17, 1790.
I think Benjamin was the greatest hero of all time because he dedicated his life to the benefit of others. Like the time he went to France for years trying to convince them to help us during the American Revolution. That was an example of what he believed in.
Besides trying to help with the American Revolution, he also made discoveries and founded what was thought to be the first public library ever! He was also the one who discovered that lightning was electricity. He also made inventions. Like his kite experiment, stepladders, swim fins, bifocal glasses, and the harmonica. Without Benjamin, the world just won’t be the same.
