Compact Discs are a great thing. Think about what life would be like with no CDs. No music and no computer games. Bill Gates made CD-ROMs (Read Only Memory) much better than they were. Most music and computer games are on CD-ROMs because otherwise people could change the formatting.
My hero is Bill Gates. He is the founder of Microsoft where they make the Operating System Windows. 95% of computer users use the Windows Operating System or OS, 4.5% use the Mac OS and .5% use other OSs. That shows how many more people use computers with OSs made by Microsoft.
Bill Gates was born in 1955 in Seattle. He still lives in Seattle and that is where Microsoft is. His parents were William H. Gates II who was a Seattle attorney and Mary Gates who was a teacher at the University of Washington.
My hero is Bill Gates because he made the CD-ROM better, his company makes operating systems that everyone uses, and he runs a very successful company. Microsoft also made Microsoft office which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and Access.
Bill Gates inspires me because he has been using computers and programming computers since he was 13. I am 11 and really like computers. I’m learning simple programming and it will probably be something I do when I grow up.
My dad was one of the first one hundred workers at Microsoft. He learned a lot at Microsoft and helped to make Microsoft Access. My dad also inspires me a lot and I’ve learned most of my programming from him.
