Some people ask themselves, who is my hero? Look for someone that are kind and loving. Look for someone that cares for others. All those things are in my hero, President Gordon B. Hinckley.

President Hinckley lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Marjorie Pay in 1937. The saddest day of President Hinckley’s life was Sister Hinckley’s death, which was April 6, 2004. All the members of the church, including me, prayed for him. Before his wife died they had five children. He was a very loving father and husband.

He made a lot of differences in the past and now. He was the first president to travel to Spain and he is the longest prophet our church ever had. He broke ground for a temple in Madrid and Africa. He met thousands of Latter- Day Saints in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South America. He made so many differences that I can’t name them all.

He was the 15th prophet of the church and he was called on Sunday, March 12, 1995. Before he became prophet, he served as a counselor in the First Presidency for 14 years. The prophets he served before he was, were Spencer W. Kimball, Ezra Taft Benson, and Howard W. Hunter. When he was prophet, he was interviewed by the major news media and a guest on the popular CNN Cable T.V program, Larry King Live. He was a great guy to be interviewed.

President Gordon B. Hinckley is a true prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter- Day Saints. He is a great person and he is my hero. I hope he will be yours.
