My hero is Gabriela Mistral. Her real name was Lucia da Maria del Perpetuo Socorro Godoy Alcayaga. She was born on April 7th, 1889 in Vicuña Chile, and she died on January 10th 1957, in Hempstaed N.Y., US.

She was a poet and she was the first Latin American who received the Nobel Prize in literature. With "Sonnets of Death" she won a Chile prize.
I think she was an excellent poet. She is my hero because I love poetry and with her I learnt more things about poetry. She is important in my life because she has taught me poetry.
