General George S. Patton (www.generalpatton.com) |
My hero is General George S. Patton, hero among heroes. Did you know that General George S. Patton and his army traveled around 86,000 miles of German territory? He was well known for educating many military personnel. He also went to West Point where he did many different kinds of sports during his years there. He also received all the medals, ribbons, and the highest rank during his service in the Army. His service in the Army was very memorable to the people who look up to him.
In his time, General Patton loved to educate other military men and women when he was in the Army. He started Calvary which means explosives and tank school. He also taught men and women how to use swords and that was called swordsmanship. His platoon was one of the best in the nation. When he taught his platoon he taught how to march and fight better. One reason is he taught his men how to march for celebrations or ceremonies. He taught his men and women to fight better because of the war, WWII that was happening at the time. This is some of the reasons why he taught his men and women how to do a certain training better.
General George S. Patton went to military school at West Point in New York and he did many different sports there. One of his sports he did was horseback racing. When he did this sport he raced one mile on the back of a horse. Another sport he did was fencing. This sport is when you wear a white suit and have a sword with a tip on the end. He also did swimming when he was in West Point because he enjoyed swimming when he was done with all his work. Did you know at West Point they made everyone do up three sports to do better in team skills so they are better with many other military personnel? As you can see,General George S. Patton did many sports in West Point and really enjoyed playing sports at West Point.
In the army he received many medals, ribbons, and high rank. General Patton’s rank in the army was a commanding officer five star general. That is the highest rank as you can possibly get in the army. A medal he received is the Medal of Honor that showed his incredible courage in the line of fire. He also received the Purple Heart for being injured in active duty in the line of fire. Another medal General Patton received was the Silver Star for showing courage. One ribbon he received was the Antarctica ribbon for going to Antarctica. As you can see General George Patton was a highly accomplished military man.
General George S. Patton is my hero because he joined the military and got his goals completed. He enjoyed teaching military personnel about many different things. He also went to West Point and did many different sports. He also received all the medals, ribbons, and rank in the military. A connection that I have with General Patton is my great great grandfather fought with him. In closing I quote General George S. Patton: “Do more than is required of you.” George Patton was a great man.
