Gene Simmons

Gene Simmons once said,“The root of all evil isn't money; rather, it`s not having enough money.” Intelligence, perseverance, and great skill are some of the heroic qualities Gene Simmons has. He knows three languages and has setting up many business deals are some of his smarts. Coming from a “dirt poor” family he turned from a zero into a hero, being poor to very wealthy and successful. Lastly, the skill of playing guitar and his intelligence about business say that anyone can come from any background and be successful and have a lot to offer.

Chaim Witz was born in Israel in 1949 to Flora Klein and Feri Witz. His mother and her brother Larry were the only members to survive the Holocaust. They then moved to Jackson Heights in Queens. Being very poor and without a father, Chaim changed his name to Eugene Klein and developed an interest for science fiction. Eugene changed his name to Gene Simmons in the 1960’s after rocker Jumpin’ Gene Simmons. During high school, Gene formed the band Lynx (later named The Missing Links), The Long Island Scouts, Wicked Lester in the early 70’s then eventually KISS. He lives in Beverley Hills, with his longtime girlfriend Shannon Tweed, and two kids, Nick and Sophie.

To me Gene Simmons makes a difference in the world with the music he spreads, his business, and how involved he is with countries around the world. KISS performs all around the world spreading great music to people who love it and like how KISS lives their lives. Not to mention Gene Simmons never smoked or drank alcohol in his entire life. Business is very important to Gene. Investing in many businesses that help people such as a KISS coffeehouse, having his own KISS merchandising and being charitable is what makes him a great entrepreneur. Lastly, he helps his homeland of Israel. He congratulated an Israeli soldier, met his brothers and sisters, and does charitable work.

Intelligence, perseverance, and great skill are the main attributes that make Gene Simmons my hero. Gene’s smarts make him very admirable. Knowing 3 languages, making smart business deals, getting from nothing to a wealthy man, and even staying away from drugs in the pressured rock, world make him very smart. Perseverance got him along greatly. Being poor, he took up guitar and learned to play even when not being the best at the beginning. Also he kept on trying in life to become rich, powerful, and famous even when he was nothing. Lastly, he never gives up in making and important business deal and always tries to reason. Finally great skill describes Gene the best in my opinion. Playing the guitar greatly is the number one skill he has. Shredding on his famous Axe Guitar and singing make his skill level higher than most musicians.

Gene’s many great admirable attributes are intelligence, perseverance, and great skills. From starting with nothing to being a wealthy, powerful, household name he overcame many hardships. His life taught me you can do great things when being small and have nothing. Also, he teaches people that you don’t have to be cool to do drugs, drink, and throw my life away. Lastly, he brought great music to the world and I want to be like him someday. Gene Simmons is a great person to admire, a great leader, and finally one of the greatest people to walk this planet.
