Gerard A. Way

On April 9, 1977 a hero was born, my hero, Gerard Arthur Way. Growing up in a rough New Jersey town, Gerard didn’t have much of a future ahead of him. No one had ever expected for him to be the man he is today. To thousands of people Gerard isn’t ordinary, but in fact he is. He just has the qualities of a hero. Perseverance, courageousness, intelligent, caring, those are few of the many words to describe Gerard.

Gerard was born in a crime and drug ridden area of New Jersey. Growing up as a child Gerard had a hard time in school. He wasn’t considered the “cool” kid, ever. He was always known as the kid who enjoyed drawing and singing. Gerard kept this interest all up through middle school, high school, and college. That was Gerard’s dream, and he was never going to give them up.

Gerard is a very talented man. He is in the band My Chemical Romance. He is the lyricist and the lead singer. Gerard is also a comic book writer. He wrote The Umbrella Academy series. The things that Gerard has done have really inspired people to do more than they ever could believe. Gerard also helps people with personal problems.

Gerard Way has helped thousands of people with one very hard issue, depression. He relates to people because he has gone through it. During depression Gerard had gotten into addictions. At one point he was addicted to alcohol and drugs. He then had gotten help, and conquered his addictions. He soon realized what he should be doing too, help other people.

In the songs Gerard writes he shows that you should always have hope, never give up, and that you should always go after your hopes and dreams. Gerard’s lyrics help people out with depression. He shows that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Also he shows that you can get through any hardships. Gerard is living proof that you can always succeed in your dreams. Also that it doesn’t matter where you’re from.
