Babe Ruth is my hero because he did what he loved regardless of  what happened in his childhood. Babe Ruth's real name is George Herman Ruth. When he was 7 he was put into Saint Mary's because his family struggled to take care of him. While in the orphanage he quickly developed a strong passion for baseball. After many years of playing the sport he became very proficient at it. This determination led him to be drafted into the big leagues in 1914 where he began to make a name for himself. At the end of his career he had a total of 714 home runs and had stolen 123 bases, of which 10 were stealing home plate!
