by Luke, Brent & Brandon from Newcastle

Not just a great bloke on the field, but a champion off the field as well

Glenn McGrath is a former cricket player for Australia, born to Beverly and Kevin McGrath on February 9th 1990 in Dubbo New South Wales. The exceptional right armed medium-fast bowler had the nickname "Pigeon" and "Millard". He was a tail ended batsman and was a fantastic fielder. He was a very successful cricketer in his years.

McGrath holds 7th highest tenth wicket partnership and two tenth wicket partnerships of 100 plus. "After his dismissal for a duck in the fourth test of the 2006 - 2007 ashes series, McGrath claimed the record of having scored more ducks in test cricket than any other Australian."

Glenn McGrath made his 20/20 international debut for Australia against New Zealand on February 17th, 2005 in Auckland. He represented the team in two 20/20 matches during his career, 3 for 31 is his best in a 20/20 match. Glenn McGrath was not just a great bloke on the field, but was a great Australian man off the field. He runs one of the most successful charities in Australia.

Glenn and Jane McGrath were inspired to start a charity for breast cancer and for their families in 2002 when she recovered from breast cancer but in 2003 Jane was re-diagnosed with breast cancer. Jane then realised she needed a breast cancer nurse. Now the McGrath Foundation is raising money to help people with breast cancer to employ breast cancer nurses.
