Helen Adams Keller was born on June 27, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Colbertco, Alabama. She lived with her parents Kate Adams and Arthur Henley Keller. Her grandparents were David Keller and Mary Moore. When she was about 18 months old she got very sick and had a very high fever. When she got better her mom was giving her a bath. Her mom realized that something was really wrong when Helen didn't react when she got soap in her eyes. They discovered that Helen was deaf and blind.

Helen Keller's hero would be Annie Sullivan, Helen's learning teacher. She is her hero because all the things that Helen would do wrong Annie had the patience for her to learn and she was the person that she spent most of her time with. Annie taught Helen how to communicate, read Braille and eventually speak. Another one of her heroes would be her parents, because they helped her while she was sick and they never gave up on her.

Helen Keller was very determined to learn. She learned how to read Braille and how to communicate with her friend's and family. The sad thing is she is dead now but she used to work in a foundation for the blind. She spoke to many people about the challenges of being blind and deaf. She inspired many important people like presidents of the United States, Kings, Queens, Alexander Graham Bell and Mark Twain. The people who are challenged do remember what she did and she still is remembered by people on the day that she died, because she is very kind and respectful and generous.

If you don't know why Helen Keller is a hero I will tell you... She helped people who are deaf and or blind overcome their difficulties and she showed those people that with determination and hard work, they could communicate with others. I chose her as my hero because she sort of changed the world from being challenged to being proud of what they are.

Another reason why I chose Helen Keller as my hero is because I didn't know a lot about her so I thought maybe I should learn about her. And I think I made a good decision because I like learning about people that I don't know. When Helen Keller was young she didn't realize that she was doing something incredible but as she got into her teens she realized what she did and she is respected for that. People who are challenged remember her the most. She is very brave to do such a heroic and generous thing, and I certainly respect her for that!

The End!
Thank you for reading my story.
