Henry Bergh is my hero. He was the founder of the A.S.P.C.A (which means the American Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals). He prevented animal cruelty and sheltered unwanted animals. He studied at Columbia college in New York, New York. Henry was also the founder of the American Society for Prevention of cruelty to children.

Bergh was such a great man because of him, it is now accepted that abuse of animals and children is an offense to both human and animals. In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln appointed him to the American Legislation at the court of Czar Alexander the second in Russia.

Bergh used his wealth and prestige to raise public awareness of suffering animals. Bergh was a great man and the president of the A.S.P.C.A until his death.

Bergh used his wealth and prestige to raise public awareness of suffering animals. In 1866 Bergh gave a lecture at Clinton hall in New York city. He gave ideas to help animals who are abused. Bergh was a great man and the president of the A.S.P.C.A until his death.
