The online dictionary definition of a hero quotes, "a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities." I think this is sexist because there are many women who are, have been, and will be heroes. I think it's wrong for people to stereotype the word "hero" just to be for men because women can be just as courageous as men and sometimes even more. I know there is a word for females, heroine, but nowadays they have switched the word to be hero, which is now "the gender neutral term for a person who acts with extraordinary courage."

My hero is a very important person to me even though I don't know him up close and personal. My hero is someone who displays bravery, achievement, and is way beyond noble. He treats everyone, including the people he just met and the ones he doesn't even know yet (like his fans), like they are the most important person in the world. My hero. is Hunter Hayes. He has achieved so much by the age of 23. He has clutched the hearts of people all around the world just by his heartfelt bullying stories that he has been through when he was a teen my age. He has also captured the attention of music lovers and everyone else worldwide by his original songs including my favorite, Invisible, which is about being the outsider but you let it go and being bullied and feeling, well, invisible. A certain line in the song quotes "Trust the one, who's been where you are wishing all it was, was sticks and stones. those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone and you're not invisible." This is him saying that he has been where I have been and I'm not alone. This is also him saying that not only does he have courage but all his fans should too, including me. He's encouraging courage.
Hunter Easton Hayes was born on September 9th 1991. His lucky parents' names are Leo and Lynette Hayes. He is an only child. Hunter found his love for music two years later when his grandma gave him a toy accordion. As a child born in a small town like Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and growing into adulthood, Hunter Hayes was always thinking big. He kept a fake schedule in his school notebook of what a tour schedule would be like. He also kept pictures of tour buses in his notebook as well. In his bio, he calls this him being a geek. I call it him being inspirational, a dreamer, and downright motivated. Speaking of motivated he always had a thing for music growing up. He sang "Jambalaya" with Hank Williams Jr. at the age of four gaining 15 million YouTube views. He also appeared with Robert Duvall in "The Apostle" at the age of six. He also appeared on the show America's Most Talented Kid when he was thirteen. Hunter fell in love with music at a very young age and also started playing guitar at a very young age. His music went uphill from there, obviously. He graduated school in 2007 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee a year later to be signed into Universal Music Publishing Group as a songwriter.Guitar isn't the only instrument he plays. As of today, he plays over thirty instruments! What a courageous move! To play that many instruments takes courage because you have to be confident that you won't fail.

Okay. So what hasn't Hunter accomplished to this date? He worked on songs with Rascal Flatts, sold out on many concerts, reached number one on his first four songs. I could go on for a while. But the thing that is the most important about him is what he has accomplished with teens about bullying. "I was a total geek, I was a total nerd, and you know, I still am, and I'm proud of that. But it took me a while to realize that it's OK to be proud of that, right? Because in that time and period of my life, if you didn't fit in, what else was there?" This is how Hunter sees the world when he was in high school and now. It shows how feelings can change throughout your life. This shows heroism because he is changing his attitude to give things a positive outlook. Hunter doesn't have any children but it's kind of like all his fans are his children because he gives them more advice than some parents ever have to their children. So I just want to say... Thank You Hunter Hayes. For being... MY HERO.
