Hannah Taylor Helps the Homeless

Could you ever imagine seeing someone without a home and eating out of the garbage can? When Hannah Taylor was five years old, this is what she saw and she realized that she had to do something about it. The more Hannah learned about homelessness the more she wanted to help. She went to her Grade 1 teacher and talked to her about it. She thought it was a great idea to start a foundation to help the homeless. This is how Hannah Taylor started the Ladybug Foundation. The Ladybug Foundation is a place that provides food shelter and love to the homeless people.

Hannah began by putting jars around her home city of Winnipeg, Manitoba to collect money to give to charity. The jars are decorated like ladybugs. She used the ladybug as her symbol because it represents good luck, which is what homeless people need. After she became more successful she started selling bracelets and also volunteered at the city’s food banks. Hannah got to miss a bit of school while she was trying to set up her program and going to talk to students at other schools in Winnipeg and all over Manitoba. She believes that if people know more about homelessness, they will want to help.

Hannah was only eight years old when she started the Ladybug Foundation. She is now fourteen so she has been running the foundation for six years and it has been really successful. They Ladybug Foundation is completely run by volunteer. They have put on a bunch of fundraisers such as the scarf campaign, make change, jars, bracelets, and big boss lunches.

Hannah Taylor has a lot of good qualities. Some of them are that she is really nice and she likes to help people. She does this in her spare time instead of doing what other kids do. Other kids get to play with friends while she is helping the homeless. Hannah goes and helps homeless people in her free time and, if you ask me, that is compassion. Hannah Taylor really wants to teach people to care and share what they have with the people that are not as rich.

In conclusion I think that Hannah Taylor is an amazing person and has made an impact on my life. Hannah Taylor has shown me to be nice to others and help others. She is really kind and likes to help others. Hannah Taylor has had an impact on many people’s lives. She thinks that “No one should have to eat out of a garbage can.” I don’t think that is right either and this is why she makes a great hero.
