Harriet Tubman was born in 1820. Harriet Tubman died in 1913, and her birthplace was in Maryland.

Harriet Tubman led over 300 people from slavery. Some of them thought she couldn't do it, but they were wrong, she could. She had saved lots of families from slavery and they lived the rest of their lives with freedom. Harriet Tubman also dedicated her life to other people. She made a huge sacrifice and had perseverance.

One of the obstacles that they had to overcome was not getting caught, otherwise they would die. They even had a prize for anyone who caught Harriet, but no one ever did. They also had to use the underground railroad along their journey so they could eat and hide.

Harriet Tubman had lots of perseverance because she never gave up no matter what. Harriet was also very selfless because she cared about others and came back for more. Harriet Tubman also made sacrifices and had risked her life. Harriet gave a lot just to lead people to freedom and could have gotten killed if she were caught. That is another reason why Harriet Tubman is my hero.
