A web about Hayley Wickenheiser (I made it) |
Hayley Wickenheiser has been playing hockey since she was 12. She won gold at the Canada Winter games with Team Alberta. Mrs. Wickenheiser had grown up in Saskatchewan and she would play hockey there before she had to move to Calgary because of economic reasons. She thought it was the best place for her career. Mrs. Wickenheiser’s proudest moment was when she won gold at the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics. Mrs. Wickenheiser was born August 12, 1978. Mrs. Wickenheiser says that the key to leadership is to create an environment where people feel safe and happy to be themselves. Hayley Wickenheiser also said that it takes courage and inner strength but when a group pulls together and works toward a goal the chances of succeeding are very high.

I chose Hayley Wickenheiser because she’s my hero. You may ask why and that is because in the past all that I thought of hockey was that it was just a game were people somehow run on ice and chase a round black thing called a puck, but Hayley Wickenheiser showed me that hockey is way more than just people on ice chasing a puck and that is why I choose her.

In the future I would love to meet Hayley Wickenheiser. She looks really nice and fun to be around. I hope that someday I will meet her and maybe just maybe play hockey with her. Last year I tried hockey again because when I was little I played on the Timbites team but I had to quit. I had no choice because I broke my nose and had to get surgery done on it. Then as the years went by I started getting different iterates like dance, soccer, and gymnastics. But then the next year, so like last year, I realized that I used to play hockey and it was fun so then I re-enrolled in hockey and that’s where I am today. Hayley Wickenheiser did a huge favor for me, she showed me hockey.
