Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla was born on May 8, 1753 in San Diego Guanajuato. His parents were Cristobal Hidalgo and Ana Maria Gallaga and he had 3 brothers. He was a happy person and for the kind of person that he was, was named the nickname The Fox, but only with friends. He studied in the San Nicolas school, there he had the opportunity of getting to be the best student of the school, then in 1779 and 1792 he started teaching Latin grammar and arts. Time passed and the government started getting people to work too much and treating them badly, so Hidalgo started getting people were Aldama and Josefa Maria Jimeneza and then Hidalgo get all the town and started the war and they won so the government stopped treating people like that. For winning the battle, he was named the Father of the Independence.

He is my hero because he was only one person who started getting more and more people until he won the war and it is a honor for me that he did all that for his people and imagine what would happen if he did not do anything. Right now we would be working and working only for other people and would not have food and anything; that's why he is so important to me, for his bravery, dedication, power, and his way of thinking. Hidalgo is a great person and I am proud of him and the Mexican people are too.

All the people consider Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla a hero, because he helped all the Mexican people who were overworked. It does not matter how much time will pass he will always be and stay in the history books and in our head. Only one person was named the father of the independence, nobody else has been named the father of the independence; that is another reason why he is so important, because he is unreplaceable and that is important to people, that is the meaning of a hero, only one special person.
