"The power to question is the basis of all human progress"(BrainyQuote.com). It was said by a famous Indian Prime Minister named Indira Gandhi. She said this because of a speech she was giving to her country. Indira Gandhi was the first woman to become Prime Minister of India and helped her country change in a lot of ways. She was helpful to many people and changes many people's lives. Indira Gandhi is heroic because she always cares about the welfare of her people, and tries to resolve not only her country's problems but other countries as well.

When Indira`s father was prime minister and when she was her father's assistant she saw lots of poverty and robberies in the country. One time she also saw violent acts on the streets and wanted to do something but couldn't do anything about it, she thought it was irrelevant for her country. Also there were lots of breakouts in her city. These events influenced  her do to do something for her country and fix it.

Indira Gandhi is a hero to many because of her nobility and compassion.  When Indira was Prime Minister she found that agriculture was not doing well in her country because the farmers were getting too tired to work with a lack of water, so she wanted to do something about it. According to Biography.com,'' Gandhi subsequently brought about great change in agricultural programs that improved the lot of her country's poor. For a time, she was hailed as a hero,''(Biography.com 2015). This evidence proves that she had compassion, because when India was struggling with agriculture she helped fix that, showing that she she cared about the poor and  agriculture. In addition, Indira also showed nobility. When Indira was helping the agriculture she found out that Pakistan was having some problems. For instance, the author of history.com states, " In 1971, the Pakistani army conducted violent acts against people of East Pakistan. Nearly 10 million people fled to India. She invited the president and resolved the problem,''(History.com 2015). This evidence shows, that Indira Gandhi is noble because she cares about the people`s welfare and likes to resolve any kind of people`s problem. Based upon these facts, noble and compassionate are the right ways to define Indira Gandhi because she wants to help people from other countries and cares a lot about environmental issues and the welfare of people.

Poverty was reduced because this was one of Indira Gandhi's actions she did for the world. When she became Prime Minister she enforced some serious rules and made everyone follow. Additionally, another long term impact is that she made the policeman actually care about their jobs. When people came to the officers to tell them about a crime, the cops didn't really care about what they said. Indira wanted to do something about this ridiculous behavior. So she said that if you do this behavior you will get fired. These long term impacts that Indira did helped India become a better place.

Based upon these facts, Indira Gandhi is heroic because she cared about the welfare of her people and not only cared about her country, but also about other countries too. Throughout the years of Indira being Prime Minister, she was really helpful; she changed India in a really good way. Indira Gandhi was really one of the most heroic people of history because she changed India in so many ways.
