J.R.R. Tolkien is a hero because he brought fun to the world of literature. Tolkien did this by writing The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Trilogy. He has been a role model to all. John Ronald Reuel was born on January 3, 1892 in Bloemfontien South Africa. When he was four Tolkien moved to the English country side. Sadly, at the same age, his father Arthur Tolkien died from rheumatic fever. At the age of twelve, his mother Mabel Tolkien also died. So as you can see, Tolkien had a sad, rough life to live.

J.R.R. Tolkien had many obstacles to overcome during his life. He enlisted in World War 1 and had to endure the deaths of most of his friends. He wanted to write fantasy Stories to give people something with joy instead of sadness. Unfortunately the Ace Company published an illegal version of The Hobbit, and he lost a lot of his precious writing time having to protect his work. When his wife Edith died, sadness overwhelmed him. The things Tolkien went through changed him forever.

Just like everyone does, J.R.R. Tolkien had character traits. Tolkien was a gentle soul because he loved trees and celebrated their spirits, he also loved the Warwickshire country-side. He was hard working because his writing time was important to him and he hated to be interrupted. He was disciplined because he always stuck to his work and rarely tore himself away from it. These are the character traits that the author of The Lord Of The Rings had.

Tolkien's contributions were for the whole world. This is because he created languages like Elven and Dwarven, and legends like Legolas and Gimli. Tolkien also made contributions to the world of literature by writing THE LORD OF THE RINGS and THE HOBBIT. The way that Tolkien wrote his fantasies brought much joy to people's hearts, so they could escape from thier gray reality and have fun in a colorful animation. The main theme isn`t just about a great story, but about what he did for us all.
