Did you know that John Adams was a lawyer? He was a lawyer, a farmer and a president. I think a hero is someone who is practical, idealistic and patriotic. My hero is John Adams. He was the second president of the United States of America. He was the first vice-president and he followed after George Washington as president.
John Adams was born October 30, 1735, and died July 4, 1826. He was born in Quincy, Massachusetts. He got married to Abigail Smith. He had three sons and one daughter. His kids' names were John Quincy, Thomas, Charles, and Abby. He was devoted to being a good man. He helped people through tough times. He was the most devoted man in the world.
John Adams was practical because he taught himself to speak Dutch. He taught himself how to speak Dutch because he asked the Dutch for money for the United States. If you are going to ask people for money it is good to speak their language. He helped write the Declaration of Independence. He played a big role in the writing of the Declaration of Independence. John Adams chose Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence. He also spoke up to other colonists about breaking away from the United Kingdom. He was one of the signers of this important document.
John Adams was very patriotic. He always did well for his country. Right after George Washington’s term, he took his place. He was dedicated to be the next president. The U.S.A was in big trouble, but John Adams helped them through it. He went to France seeking their help in the war against the British rule. He was a Federalist leader. He was a patriot because he loved his country and he gave up a lot for it.
John Adams is important to me because I am related to him. My grandmother’s mother was an Adams. He is my hero because he was the second president of the U.S.A. John Adams is very special to me; I wish I had met him. John Adams was a really awesome guy. John Adams is my hero!!!
