Joseph-Armand Bombardier

He made other people's lives better because a lot of people own and love the Bombardier machine. He wasn't those kinds of heroes where he would saved the world like Superman, but he was a brave one, and an inspiring one, to many people. He was a hero in Science and Engineering. Joseph's first invention was the B-7, the B-7 was a skidoo for 7 passengers. Bombardier's biggest invention was the snow vehicle. It was so useful back in those olden days. People didn't have to walk so far, they could now use Joseph's invention.

Anna Gravel gave birth to Joseph-Armand Bombardier. Alfred Bombardier was very supportive of his son for what he was planning on building. Bombardier was a very good brother to his siblings, Hermine, Gerard, Leotine, Alphonse-Raymond, Theophile, Leopold and Georges. Bombardier married Yvonne Labrecque and had six children with her.

Joseph was a very caring brother, he would always build little toys for his brother and sisters. He was very creative, I mean he was a 15 year old boy who had thought about building a snowmobile. He had a big imagination, he thought about what would go where, and all the parts that he needed to build it and where they would go. He had a big passion. He was set on his goal and he achieved it. He was also very brave. After he was done building the snowmobile, he tried it. It could have broken down, or exploded because something could have gone wrong when he built it.

When he was 19 he opened his own garage and would repair cars and sell gasoline in the summer-time to save up to finish his invention. He had overcome his dream of building the snowmobile, he had achieved very well. The bombardier skidoo is the most popular skidoo nowadays in 2014. On New Years Eve 1922, when he was 15 years old, Bombardier tested his first full-scale invention. He strapped a model T Ford engine he had laying around, he refurbished to the top of the two wooden sleds hitched in tandem. The engine drove a hand-made wooden propeller which thrust the vehicle through the snow. Though it ran for over at least a kilometre, his father still ordered the machine dismantled because its open propeller could cause considerable injury.

Around 1937, AutoRoute 55 in Quebec was named AutoRoute Joseph-Armand Bombardier. Between Stanstead and AutoRoute 20 near Drummondville. The Bombardier Glacier in Antarctica is also named after him. In 2000 Joseph-Armand Bombardier was honored by the government of Canada with his image on a postage stamp. He is a member of the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of fame.

I am actually very impressed with his invention. I am a big fan of the Bombardier. Bombardier passed away on February 18th 1964. He had accomplished his goal, he had died a happy married man, Of course it was devastating for his family and children but at least they can be proud of what their father had accomplished. He actually made a difference in the world of many people. I'm sure his brother and sister will miss his little inventions for them. I know for a fact that his father was very proud of him and that his son had accomplished his goal. He was a good man.
