In honor of Jacques Cousteau, I did research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Jacques Cousteau because he is a French marine explorer. After the research, I was glad I did because I learned so much about him.
Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Jacques Cousteau was born on June 11, 1910. His birthplace was St. Andre-deCubzac. Jacques Cousteau’s parents were Daniel P. and Elizabeth Cousteau.

The foundation of heroism is education. The schools he went to were Holy Name School in Manhattan (when his family moved to the United States), Lycee (high school), St. Stanislaus Academy, Ecole Navale in France. His parents shipped him off to school, the fleet aviation school at Hourtin, near Bordeaux.
Hard work contributes to heroism. Cousteau formed a nonprofit organization in 1946 to buy a converted British minesweeper. He christened the vessel the Calypso, after the sea maiden in Homer's ancient epic “The Odyssey.”
Jacques Cousteau is important to mankind and changed the world. Without Jacques Cousteau the world would never have found some of the great discoveries he did.
