Johnny E. Floyd

"Pastor," said Freddie with a tear in his eye, "I just want to thank you because I never would have made it through prison if it wasn't for your teaching. And I enjoyed coming because you didn't treat us like inmates, you treated us like human beings." Freddie was just one of the inmates at a prison where this man had been preaching.

This wonderful and inspirational man of God is known as Johnny E. Floyd. He is one of the greatest pastors in the world. Through his teachings and preachings, he has led countless people to Christ, even me. I can remember one Sunday, after the day of my graduation from a program at the church, where he was preaching about living right and getting your life together, and it touched my heart. Not only mine but the other girls that graduated as well. And I can remember him saying, "I knew it was going to take them walking down the aisle to get it." And that's when I did. I went up there and rededicated my life to the Lord.

Johnny wasn't always a preacher. He wasn't always saved or lived right either. He would go to clubs and get his groove on. It was one Sunday that he went back to church and was listening to the Gospel being spoken, telling him that God loves you and you don't have to live in a life of sin. So he realized that his life was at a dead end and got saved. Getting saved changed his life forever. "My life has never been the same," he said.

After he got saved and accepted Jesus Christ into his life, he felt that he should become a pastor. And that he did. He has enjoyed it ever since. He has his own ministry called Word of Faith Christian Fellowship Church. It has been up and running for over 16 wonderful years. Through his unconditional love for God and his passion for what he does, he has made his ministry flourish into what it is today.

Johnny E. Floyd is the greatest pastor, teacher, and God-grandfather in the world. All the things he has done for and in people's lives is astounding. His walk in faith is something to strive for, and his willingness to help you get your life right is very unselfish of him. This is a hero to me. This is my hero.
