John Flynn was famous for founding the Royal Flying Doctors service. The Australian $20 note has John Flynn on it because he ran the Royal Flying Doctors service. John Flynn was born on the 25 of November 1880.
The first flight was on the 17 of May 1928. Throughout John's training he started to get an interest in working in the Outback. John Flynn started the service and kept it going. He became famous because it saved lives and it is still going today.
The Flying Doctors Service is an aeroplane service that flies doctors to remote areas of the Australian outback. It has helped many people, thanks to John Flynn.
