Different styles and patterns were laid out. A woman with long black hair examines a room and decided where everything goes and how the room should look. Her husband knocks down walls that she tells him to. This woman is the interior designer, Joanna Gaines. I first started watching Fixer Upper when it aired in 2013. I began then to really admire Joanna Gaines. I think that her faith, family relationship, and devotion to her job are qualities that I hope to have when I graduate from high school and begin a life of my own. There are many remodel and design companies, but what drew me to hers was the style she used and the whole-hearted work she put into each of her clients' houses. She not only gives them an amazing house but she leaves them with faith and hope for the years to come.

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook website, interior designers "make interior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful". The typical education that you need for this job is a bachelor's degree. There are many things, other than just decorating, that interior designers have to be aware of like building codes and inspection regulations. They have to have good communications skills as they will have to talk to architects, builders, mechanical and structural engineers. The average pay for an interior designer is $48,840 per year and $23.48 per hour. For future outlook, this job has a 4% growth rate. Similar careers to interior designers are graphic design, construction, etc. Magnolia Market, Joanna Gaines's company, has a new location in two silos that her and her husband renovated.
As a young girl, Joanna Gaines worked for her father's tire company. Then, after high school, she interned in Channel 10 newsroom. This was while she was going to school at Baylor University. "I interned at Channel 10 a couple of years. I feel like I learned a ton. I feel like my experience at Channel 10 really prepared me," said Joanna Gaines. She also was in her dad tire store commercials. These skills later transferred in her adult career, first as a good communicator to her peers and also experience in the television industry. These days Joanna Gaines is very successful with her home and interior design company- Magnolia Market. According to WacoTrib.com, her company had its opening in her new location on October 30, 2015. With this opening, there was an overwhelming outcome of people that attended. This new site is at two abandoned silos that she fixed up into a home interior design shop. Her and her husband's television show, Fixer Upper, is still airing on HGTV.
Joanna Gaines helps the families or couples in the community of Waco, Texas by giving them a home of their dreams. In one case the couple Janice and Tim McCall, had been in Uganda for two years trying to "rebuild the country one community at a time through education and job skills," -Sandra Sanchez, WacoTrib.com. She brought the community together by remodeling this home and the community help paid for the extra expenses for this on incredible couple. She not only helps people who want a new home, but people who deserve one. According to Waco's Magazine, in 2014 Joanna and Chip Gaines were voted the Wacoans of the year for making Waco a more beautiful place with their whole-hearted home flips. Their companies tagline is, "Making Waco More Beautiful One Project at a Time." Joanna Gaines not only makes the community better, she teaches the people by exhibiting a good lifestyle and good faith. She teaches good family values and determination skills.
There are many different specific steps that I will take in order to live a life like Joanna Gaines. Something I would like to do is an internship in the interior design industry. There are many different options- like Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, etc. I've also wanted to go to an interior design college after I get a bachelor's degree in a regular 4 year university. For life time goals I would like to live a life like hers. She has a lot of values that I would like my family to follow. Her career is also a career I believe I would enjoy going to and doing every day.
