John Glenn had many talents in life that made him become successful in his lifetime. These are the details about Glenn's time in space, in the wars he fought in and being a senator.

Glenn's childhood was really cool and interesting. First, Glenn was born on July 18th, 1921 in Cambridge, Ohio. Next, his family adopted a little girl named Jean and she was younger than Glenn. Lastly, his family went through rough economic times with their house and farm. Glenn had to have many jobs to keep his family from giving up their house and farm in Cambridge, Ohio. The jobs he had were selling his family's rhubarb to other people, helping his dad with selling used cars for a Chevrolet dealership, and being a newspaper boy. That is John Glenn's childhood.

John Glenn served his community in many ways. The ways he served in his community were, enlisting in the U.S Navy's Air Corps, fought in World War ll and the Korean War. Next, is being the first man to orbit Earth, and Glenn writing down observations while studying the process of aging in zero gravity. Those are the ways John Glenn served his and others community.

Some of John Glenn's obstacles in life were very hard. The obstacles in his life were to save his house when their neighbors were getting forced to move, growing his own food from his family's farm for his own family, and getting engaged right before he went to serve in World War ll. Also, when he was orbiting the Earth he had to do everything manually until landing because his command told him that the heat shield would fall off. Lastly, he wanted to be the first American to be in space but he wasn't. These were the obstacles Glenn faced in his life.

I think Glenn is a hero because of many actions but these are the ones that I think really stood out to me and others. One that he did was risking his life in World War Two. He did it because he wanted to serve his country. He then risked his life while traveling in space two times. Lastly, he was a hero because he studied the process of aging in zero gravity. Those are the hero actions that I picked for John Glenn.

The things John Glenn did in his field were cool and inspiring. Before John Glenn went into space and was a senator, he was a pilot for the marines. In that time he flew a R4D, a B-25, a F8F Bearcat, a F9F-Panther, and an F-86 Sabre. When Glenn was in NASA he was a test pilot and was the first man to orbit planet Earth. When he was in World War ll and the Korean War he earned many medals. The medals he earned were three distinguished Flying Cross medals, and eight air medals. After World War ll and the Korean War he was an astronaut for NASA. When he was at NASA Glenn was a test pilot and later got recognition for being the first man to orbit planet Earth. Lastly, he was a three term (9 years) senate for Ohio. That is what Glenn did in his field in World War Two, the Korean War, and being in space two times.

John Glenn's many qualities that helped him become successful started with his journey into space and the Wars he fought in. First, he was brave. I think Glenn was brave because he was a test pilot for NASA, first man to orbit Earth, and fighting in World War Two and the Korean War. Next are his dreams because they made him become successful. Lastly, he is smart because he was studying the process of aging in zero gravity. I think John Glenn is an explorer because he was the first man to orbit Earth and went into space again to study the process of aging. Those are John Glenn's three qualities that stood out to me.

This is a lesson that I learned from Glenn. An important lesson that I learned from John Glenn is that to never give up on your dreams. He said "The most important thing we can do is inspire young minds to advance of science, math, and technology education that will help youngsters take use to the next level of space travel". Also John Glenn had a lot of medals and awards that also inspired me. The medals he earned were three Distinguished Flying Cross medals, eight Air medals, first man to orbit Earth. Lastly, is being a three term senator for Ohio. That is the important lesson I learned from John Glenn.
