“Lasting change is a series of compromises” -Jane Goodall
People have heard of Jane Goodall, but people might not know what she has done for the world. Jane Goodall is my hero because she has done so much work with chimpanzees and she has made so many important discoveries about chimps. Goodall is a hard-working role model because she makes an effort to help chimps. She wants to help chimpanzees, so she takes great actions and cares for others. Jane Goodall is very inspiring.

Jane’s discoveries have made a big difference in the world. Before she made them, no one knew that chimps could get AIDS or that they were meat eaters. She figured out that chimps could be cannibals, that they can rarely have twins, and that they are toolmakers. When she was younger and in Africa, she observed a male chimpanzee going crazy over a banana near the camp, and so she knew if she kept bananas near the camp, then chimps would come near them and she could make even more important discoveries. Goodall is giving since she has provided the world important findings that no one else knew.
In Tanzania, Africa, Goodall has uncovered numerous things about chimp life. She said, “As a small child in England, I had this dream of going to Africa." During Jane’s time in Africa, she met the anthropologist Luis Leakey, who believed that there was more to apes than we knew. Leakey chose Jane to start the project on chimpanzees on the Gombe National Reserve in Tanzania. One of her major accomplishments was that she established the Jane Goodall Institute with nineteen offices around the country. She made a global youth program called Roots & Shoots. This program shows kids how to help the environment and teaches them about animals. It has over eight thousand groups in over one hundred countries. Jane Goodall is a hero since she has made important discoveries and she made a huge difference in the world.
