When you think of a hero you would most likely think of Superman or Batman. But Jane Goodall is a real hero. She is a hero because she overcame all of her obstacles. She is also a very kind to all animals. Jane Goodall spent many years saving and feeding chimps. First we are going to talk about Jane Goddall’s childhood.

Jane Goodall was born on the third of April 1934 in London, England. Her family was very wealthy. When she was born she already had a true love for all animals. She went outside and loved watching birds and other animals around her home. On her third birthday her parents gave her a stuffed animal chimp which she named Jubilee. She carried that chimp everywhere. Also, Jane still has it to this day, and it is hairless. When Jane was eight years old, her parents sadly got divorced. Jane then moved to live with her grandma, mom and sister. It was hard and sad for Jane because Jane’s dad was in the war. Jane did very well in school. She always read books with animals in them. Her favorite was George of the Jungle. When school was not in session, she enjoyed exploring wildlife. On one sunny afternoon, she went outside to see how the hens laid their eggs. She never told her mom that she was going out. Her mom and Grandma were looking for her for hours and finally Jane came back. Her mom was so worried about her but didn’t yell at her. When Jane came in her mom asked “where were you?” Jane answered “I was watching the hens in the back to see how they laid their eggs”. Jane’s mom wasn’t upset because she was she wanted to encourage Jane’s exploration. For college Jane went to the Cambridge University. That is the end of Jane’s childhood!

Heroes also experience challenges in their life. Most of the time people think they are just perfect. Jane did not have any troubles in school; she was a very good student. However, she did have some challenges. When she was eight years old, her parents got in fights a lot and they decided to get a divorce. Another challenge occurred when she lived in the forest for ten years. There were terrorists that did not like her work at all. When she was exploring one day, she heard some noises and when she turned around she saw the terrorists that were there to attack her. She worked hard in trying to save the chimps. But sadly a couple passed away. Jane was very sad because a couple of her favorite chimps died. When she lived in the forest, she and her mom caught the disease, malaria. Jane was very sick for along time. She was very disappointed that she could not go out to explore the wildlife. If she did, the disease could spread and kill the chimps. After that dreadfulness she and her husband got married and had a little boy named Grub. Jane and her husband got a divorce. After she got divorced she married another man and he died. A lot of bad things happened in Jane’s life that had to do with her family. But now she is very happy with her life.

Jane had a lot of excellent traits about herself. Here are three traits that I thought represented her. The first trait is being bold and brave. She always stuck to what she was, and figured out a way to get through it. When she had a problem, she always found a solution. For example when she got malaria she was brave right through it. When the terrorists were attacking her she was always confident that she would get through it. Another trait that Jane Goodall had was that she was always confident with herself. Like when she said she was going to do something she succeeded in her goal. For example she lived in Africa and didn’t just go home; she stuck with it. She also always explored by herself with no one else. And would never give up. Jane is also humane. She thinks of other people before herself. For instance, she gave the chimps her food. Jane and her mom had malaria. When Jane was sick she helped her mom because Jane’s mother had malaria too. Another giving thing she did was that she spent her daily life giving chimps food, petting them, playing with them and most of all just spending time with them. Those are most of the great and excellent traits that Jane had.

As you can see Jane Goodall is a true hero. She is a hero because of her kind heart and love to all animals. Jane Goodall is a very confident and amazing person and when I grow up I would really want to be just like her! I want to work hard, and care for animals just like her.
