James Hetfield

Who is James Hetfield? James Hetfield is the lead singer/rhythm guitarist of my favourite band Metallica. James was born August 3, 1963, in Los Angeles and is 6'1". James is married and has 3 children. He is a good hero for people who want to start their own band and multi task by singing and playing guitar at the same time.

When it comes to how serious his job is, it is up to attending duties. Example: He threw out his back on the summer of the Sanitarium 2000 tour. James had to attended three weeks of intense physical therapy. Even through the hard times in 2001 his dedication and help from friends and experts he got through. This is why he is so inspirational for millions of fans around the world.

It's amazing up to this day that James is the voice of Metallica because he almost wasn't a voice at all in the early days. Metallica tried different ideas like having Dave Mustaine play lead guitar, James doing rhythm guitar and having John Bush to sing. James decided to fight harder to become frontman. James was born in a Christian family which played a huge part in most of Metallica's lyrics.

At the age of nine, James started taking piano lessons then taking on his brother at the drums and finally in his pre-teen years he picked up a guitar. The reason he was so into music was because the like of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy providing inspiration. James set off and became a rock star in his first band obsession. The band was made out of the Veloz brothers on Bass and Drums and Jim Arnold on guitar. They spent a lot of time in the Veloz garage.

Phantom Lord was born with Jim Mulligan on Drums. The group went through a few bass players and James moved back to Downey, California. James started a new band called Leather Charm but James only was singing without playing a guitar. So that's why James Hetfield is my hero, he is a great guitar player, great singer and does not give up.

His final band is Metallica with James Rhythm Guitar/Vocals, Lars Ulrich Drums, Kirk Hammett Lead Guitar and Robert Trujillo on Bass.
