This is a profile of Joel Heyman (http://www.facebook.com/joeact) |
I first realized Joel Heyman was my career hero when I was watching http://www.youtube.com/. I thought about being an actor but didn’t want to be forever sold to some huge company. My friend Dan told me to watch a video called Red vs. Blue. I was hooked, an instant fan, but then I found out you can do that for a living and that’s what draws me to him and not just him but all the people of http://roosterteeth.com/home.php
Joel has a job that requires public speaking which is an important skill. He graduated at University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in drama production. Joel Haymen is an actor so it is hard to calculate the exact salary he earns in a year, but the average independent actor earns $39.24 an hour. Similar jobs are singer, public speaker, and director. His recent developments include Red vs. Blue session 8 and roosterteeth shorts that come out once a week. Acting does take training but mostly talent.
In 1997 he graduated University Texas Austin with a BFA degree. This ex-Hollywood actor has been in countless internet videos and even appeared in several TV shows. His most famous role is Michel J. Caboose from Red vs. Blue. It was revolutionary series early on putting two video features that had been done before together voice over’s and video game footage to create a hilarious video after that Joel became a full time member of roosterteeth. He later appeared in 1-800-magic, The stranger hood, and roosterteeth shorts alongside Geoff Ramsey, and Burnie Burns.

“Why don’t we just cast Joel again? He used to act in Hollywood.” –Ben Rooster teeth employee.
Joel Heyman has become a humor icon on the web. Besides a wave of Cabooses online and a near cult of fans. He’s done a lot for internet acting and other than that he appeared in several T.V. shows like Criminal Minds. And he made me want to start a series like Red vs. Blue. The majority of Michinima actors were inspired by roosterteeth, mostly Joel.
I have learned from my research how I can be like my hero Joel Heyman. I need to become an established actor instead of a lunch time clown. I should join the drama club at my school. In college I need to get a degree in fine arts and do acting there. As a lifetime goal I should try out for commercials and background spots and possibly work with an independent film company similar to Rooster Teeth. Those are some goals I can make to be like Joel Heyman.
