For young people chasing their dreams "Do what you want to do." - James Hooper
James Hooper was born on 19 April in 1987. He is a British mountain climber and adventurer.
Hooper was raised in Cardiff, Wales by a single father who worked as a civil engineer.
In 2003, Hooper and his friend, Rob Ganntlett frequently discussed their dream of climbing Mount Everest, when they were 16. However, they struggled to raise the funds to cover the costs
of a professional guided expedition, and only secured their last sponsor on the day before they departed.
In May 2006, they travelled to Tibet and climbed Everest from the north side.
And finally, they became the
youngest Britons to reach the summit, both Hooper and his friend, Rob Ganntlett.
In 2007, for their next expedition, "180° pole to pole" the first non-motorized trip from the North Magnetic Pole to the South Magnetic Pole (a journey of 42,000 km) using only human and natural power to raise awareness of climate changes. (Wikipedia)
Finally, they finished it in April 2008, after 409 days. Later, they awarded the "National Geographic Adventurers of the Year prize for 2008".
In 2010, James moved to South Korea to attend university and also he was a cast member of Korean talk show "non-summit" for short time in 2014.
Now, he moved to Australia to complete his doctorate at University of Wollongong.
I met James Hooper in Korean TV show titled "Non-Summit Meeting" when I was 14. In the TV show, there were 11 foreigners from all different countries with 3 Korean MC and they shared and talked together about their own cultures in their perspective with specific subjects in Korean. Especially, James Hooper who presented United Kingdom attracted my attention with helpful advice for teenagers chasing their dreams. At that time, I didn't have an exact dream for my future and I was really confusing and worrying with a lot of thinking what I want to do in the future. However, after I listened to him, I got time to think about my dream with his advice and I got to know many kinds of marketing jobs which are really fit with my tendency. Thanks to James Hooper, I could take time to think about my dreams and what I want to do. Also when I feel tired with studying in these days, I get courage and hope with his wise saying as given below. It makes me feel like one day, I can achieve my dreams certainly as James Hooper though I feel tired now.
Therefore, now, I make my dreams bigger and more exactly with the basic thinking that I came up at the first time with his wise saying.
He is not just one of many adventurers, he is a superb hero who made me dream for me.
" For young people chasing their dreams. There are 3 steps. "
First, don't be scared of pursuing your dreams because if you want to do something then that means you put all of your passion and energy into it and if you put all of your passion and energy into something then you are granted to succeed. So keep on trying to do what you do. Don't say I'm not going to do because you are scared of failure because there is no such thing as failure.
Second, remember this life is special. There's only one chance to live it. You can spend that time working really hard and trying to earn lots of money but that is not going to give you the same level of happiness as spending time with friends and family and also taking the opportunity to give yourself new experiences.
Finally, try learning or doing something different this year or going somewhere new. Every year is new chance and new opportunity. Life is full of new experiences and unexpected places and unknown things. So make sure you embrace new things and the opportunity for you.

James Hooper should be a hero for many people chasing their dreams. Though he achieved a big dream in young age, which is climbing mountain Everest, he was never filled with conceit.
Nowadays, He still takes on challenges. Recently, he published a book titled "One-Mile Closer" for people chasing their dreams. Also he does many kinds of volunteer activities for world too.
He is a person who has many things that other people can learn. Therefore, I believe many people can cheer up and keep chasing their dreams by getting advice and inspiration from my hero, James Hooper.
