Jewel Kilcher

When Jewel was just growing up, she would always have her mom sing, "This little bird" every night before she went bed. As Jewel got older she would go with her mom and dad to little concerts and perform yodeling to get people's attention.

Jewel's parents divorced, and Jewel mainly stayed with her dad over the years.

Independently Jewel moved out of her house around the age of seventeen and lived in her a van for a while with her mom. Jewel showed off her music talents at coffee houses and night clubs.

The songs that helped Jewel get out of the van was, "You Were Meant For Me" and "Who Will Save Your Soul".

She sold over 3 million albums before the age of 21, has had numerous number one songs, and she has won countless awards.

The reason why i picked Jewel as my hero is because she went from living in a van to selling 3 million albums before the age of 21. Heroically, Jewel's story of her trying to succeed in the big world saves people from giving up on their dreams and talents.
