Jose María Morelos (banxico.org.mx) |
Have you heard the word hero? I do, I’m a hero fan, and I believed they were comic super heroes and fictional heroes, but I had to learn that they are real people who fight for justice, for freedom, for other people rights and for themselves.
Hello, my name is Sebastián, I’m from Tampico, and I’m here to describe a marvelous hero. Since in Tampico there are no local heroes that I know of, I will describe a national hero. My hero is a kind of Mr. Justice, and a man with lots of guts. The hero I will describe is Jose María Morelos, a very honorable man. From here starts my description:
José María Morelos y Pavón was born on September 30, 1765, in Valladolid. He spent from his childhood to his graduation in Morelia. At the age of 45, in 1810, Morelos knew about Hidalgo’s independence movement, and with a great army, he joined the move. During the war campaign, he was the leader of his troop, and he also was the war strategist and the war planner. After he heard about Hidalgo’s death, he felt bad for losing his leader, but he swore he was going to continue his fight.
Finally, in 1815, Morelos lost the war. He was beaten in Tezmalaca, and all his army was killed. Then he was degraded from the priesthood and executed by firing squad on December 22, 1815 in Mexico State. I admire him because he was brave and fearless in the war and wasn’t defeated too easily. He has not influenced my life yet, but he changed Mexico into a free one. Also, he’s my hero because he had enough guts to continue in the fight. He's also a hero because he has monuments and many people actually admire him for worrying so much for his country.
