Ji Sung Park with Sir Alex |
My Hero Ji-Sung Park was born in 25th February 1981 in South Korea. He retired in 2014 at PSV Eindhoven. He's now an ambassador of Manchester United; this was one of my greatest moments in my life, because he was the first Asian player who played and won England Primer league and got selected by one of the best clubs in the world and now works as an ambassador for the club.
Before I tell his career in Manchester united, first I will tell you about his personal information and his life before he gets famous. Place of birth was Goheung, Jeollanam-do province of South Korea. He started to play football when he was about 7 years old in his town. Park's Youth career started at Myongji University in 2000. When he got selected for Myongji University player, a coach didn't really like his height. He was the only one who was less than 170m. Every time Park entered to the field, coach sent back him at home and asked him to quit football just because he was small. Here's a funny story, Park's father hunted a frog and snake to make soup that tasted disgusting. But it helped Ji-Sung Park to grow 175m and he finally made the team.

Park was so sensational, National team of South Korea wants Park to play at 2002 FIFA World cup it was order from national team manager 'Guus Hiddink' he was a manager of Netherland club called PSV Eindhoven. With Hiddink and Korean national team they made a semifinal at world cup and world have surprised how Korea have got to semifinal. Park was one of the most talented players in his national team, Guss Hiddink suggested park to play in PSV but, he screwed up when he plays his debut (2003) but at 2004-2005 he had grown as a midfielder who scores and make a great passes for striker, the team loved him and the fans loved him. At Champions league Park scored a goal for PSV against AC Milan and won semifinal. At that time Ac Milan had best defenders such as Maldini, Nesta for midfielder Kaka who got FIFA Ballondor at 2007 (Award for Best player at that year)
Playing with those opponents he made a great result for PSV and 'Sir Alex Ferguson watched Park playing for his team and impressed how an Asian player could play like European. In July 2005, Park signed for 4 million pound and played until 2012 (for 7 years with Man U). He won champions league with his teammates such as Rooney, Ronaldo (now plays for Real Madrid), Evra, Reo Ferdinand etc. he had great time in Manchester fans made him the nickname 'Three-Lungs' Park because of his remarkable endurance and pace during in match.
Now as I told you he retired, but still I can feel his passion and great challenges that could change his life by taking risks. He is the one who made me to play football. These are the reasons that I choose him for my hero and want to share with others! Thanks for reading.
