At birth, she was named Joanne. Later on, she added the name Kathleen to the middle. When she became an adult, her new name was J.K Rowling. This is her life and with the help “Biography Today,” I know how she got her beginning, and you will too. J.K Rowling is one of the world’s best authors. That is why I chose her as my hero.

J.K Rowling had a surprisingly normal beginning. She was born on July 31st, 1965, in Chipping Sodbury. Chipping Sodbury is a small town in South Gloucestershire, England. Her last name, Rowling, is actually pronounced “rolling.” Her parents had a sweet and loving beginning. Peter and Anne Rowling met on a train when they were both 18. They were both on their way to join the British Navy. Her mother passed away after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. On October 16th, 1992, Rowling married her first husband, Jorge Aranes. In her first marriage, she had 1 daughter, Jessica. On November 30th, 1993, her marriage with Aranes ended in divorce. Rowling later married Neil Murry. Together, they had 2 children, David and Mackenzie. To this day, they are still married. She currently resides in England with her family.

Most heroes have had an education. J.K Rowling went to two elementary schools. Where she began, in Winterbourne, hadn’t fully gotten her ready for her next school. In Tushill, she did a poor job in her math class, and many of her other subjects. When she was eleven years old, she was capable to attend Wydean Comprehensive School located in Chepstow. She finished secondary school in 1983 and then went to college. Rowling attended the University of Exeter.

Before becoming one of the world’s best authors, she had a job as a secretary. It was the longest job she had held before publishing her writings. She worked with Amnesty International. One night, Rowling had an insane thought while coming home on a crowded train. She thought and thought for four hours, coming up with ideas. What was her thought? Harry Potter was becoming a book inside of her bubbling mind. Rowling published her ideas. Not long after, her books became some of the bestselling books the world would ever see. Those ideas from a train ride made her the first ever billionaire from writing books.

J.K Rowling is an amazing hero and author, who has won many awards. For entire decade, she was Amazon’s No. 1 selling author. She is one of the greatest writers ever, and she really is a fantastic hero. Without her, we would have never known the eleven year old wizard, Harry Potter.
