by Ahmbra from Portland

This is about Joan Ronald Ruel Tolkien and why he is a hero. I will tell you about early years, his career before he was
famous, and why he is famous. So let's get going.

First his early years. J.R.R Tolkien was born in South, Africa January 3rd 1892. He moved to Birmingham, England (where his mother was born) with his brother Hilary and mother Mabel after being bitten by a baboon spider. A year later Arthur Reuel Tolkien was about to join them in Birmingham, England when he sadly he died in South, Africa.

Next is his career before he was famous. His first real job in Birmingham, England was a lexicographer. Then he went to college. During one of his classes he scribbled in a book  the famous phrase " In a hole in the ground lived a lived a hobbit"
Curious to what a hobbit might be and why it would live in a hole he kept scribbling. In 1937 he wrote and finished "The Hobbit."

And next you may ask "Why is J.R.R Tolkien famous? All he did was write books." Well to answer that question I will ask another question. Is anyone really just that? Or are they something more beyond what we see? Yes that is cheezey but really if J.R.R Tolkien is just a writer then isn't Muhammed Ali just a boxer? Isn't Barack Obama just another president? J.R.R Tolkien is a hero because, well, his books are full of morals and values. Frodo has to make a choice whether to turn around and save himself or to go forward and save, well, all of Middle Earth. Just that shows us that if you had that choice even though we would not want to, it would not only benefit yourself but the whole world. Also steering away from his books he was in college and he fell in love with Edith at 16. But he kept his mind on his studies. He asked her to marry him at the age of 20. He is a hero in so many ways. So no he did not just write books he wrote morals and shows us all what we should or should not do. He made 39 books while he was living. His son then finished some of his other manuscripts. He died in 1973. He would be 120 if he were alive today. He was also devoted to his books. All of the lotr (or Lord of the Rings) books including "The Hobbit" took 14 years to finish. His talents brought him far because he was devoted to his art and his talent.

So now you know why John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is famous. His devotion to his talent, his education, and over all his morals. And now, as all stories do, this is the end. And as Tolkien says "The road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone, and i must follow if i can, pursuing it with eager feet, until it joins some larger way where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say."
